Terriers Fall to Beavers in Season Finale

WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College women's lacrosse team closed out the 2017 season with a 15-6 defeat to the University of Maine at Farmington in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action on Monday at Bernatchez Field.

The Beavers finish at 9-3 (7-2 NAC) overall and earn the No. 3 seed in the NAC Tournament while the Terriers wrap up at 3-10 (3-6 NAC).

UMaine Farmington saw five players with multi-goal games.  Jaclyn Langevin netted four goals, caused a game-high seven turnovers, and scooped up a game-high seven groundballs.  Rhi Jackson and Carly Raymond each tallied three goals and combined for three assists.  Alaina Shorey and Sierra Gilley both scored a pair of goals and combined for five assists.

Lindsey Allen (Jay, Maine) and Samantha Greenlaw (Windham, Maine) contributed with two goals each for Thomas while Greenlaw added an assist.  Sophia LaVallee (Pawling, N.Y.) and Alexis Felch (Laconia, N.H.) netted the final two goals for Thomas.

The Beavers opened the scoring just over five minutes in on Jackson's first of the game.  Thomas notched the game up just 14 seconds later by Allen.

UMaine Farmington exploded for eight straight goals over the next ten minutes led by Raymond, Langevin, and Shorey.  Greenlaw and Allen added their first goals of the game to break the scoring streak.  Langevin netted a goal right before the half to give her team a 10-3 lead at the half.

The Beavers continued their strong offensive play in the second half as they buried four goals in the first seven minutes.  Thomas finished the half with three more goals along with another from the Beavers to end the scoring at 15-6.

Sydni Collier (Oakland, Maine) made three saves in goal for Thomas while Samantha Bickford came up big in the win for the Beavers with 16 saves.  Heather Boland made four saves in relief of Bickford.
