POULTNEY, Vt. – The Thomas College women's lacrosse team cruised to an 11-4 victory over Green Mountain College in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action on Saturday afternoon at Eagles Game Field.
Thomas (3-9, 3-5 NAC) received four goals, an assist, four groundballs and six draw controls from Lindsey Allen (Jay, Maine) and three goals from Sophia LaVallee (Pawling, N.Y.) to lead the offense. Samantha Greenlaw (Windham, Maine) added two goals and an assist as well as four groundballs.
Sophya Fuccione added three groundballs and two draw controls to her trio of goals, while Rachel Aramburu notched a goal, five draw controls and three caused turnovers for the Eagles.
The Terriers jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first 15 minutes of action with a pair of goals from Allen and one from LaVallee before the Eagles' Aramburu cut the lead to 3-1 at the 13:45 mark.
The visitors then used eight-straight goals that spanned between the first and second halves to open up a commanding 11-1 lead. Allen and LaVallee accounted for half of the production during the run.
Fuccione ended the run with three-straight goals of her own to conclude the scoring on the afternoon.
Sydni Collier (Oakland, Maine) made one save while picking up the win for Thomas, while Chelsea Wimble turned aside 13 shots on net in the loss for the Eagles.
Thomas concludes its regular season schedule by hosting UMaine-Farmington on Monday, April 24 at 4:00 p.m.
