WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College women's lacrosse team fell to Husson University, 12-2, in a North Atlantic Conference contest on Wednesday afternoon.
The Eagles improve to 3-4 (2-2 NAC) while the Terriers fall to 2-6 (2-3 NAC).
Cali Newton led the Eagles offense with five goals on five shots while Amanda Deshaies and Megan Bataran chipped in with a pair of goals. Lauren Coughlin had a big game defensively with six caused turnovers and eight groundballs.
The Eagles offense took over in the first four minutes of play as they tallied three quick goals, including two from Deshaies. Allen got the Terriers on the board at 15:56 to cut the lead down to two. Newton added two more goals before the break as Husson held a 5-1 lead at the half.
Strong offensive play continued in the second half as Husson scored six unanswered. Newton and Bataran led the run with two goals apiece. Greenlaw scored at the 3:27 mark for the Terriers as the scoring ended at 12-2.
Sydni Collier (Oakland, Maine) made 13 saves in goal for Thomas while Kaitlin Dolloff was given the win for Husson, stopped 10 shots.
The Terriers will host Colby-Sawyer on Friday April, 14 with a 7:00 p.m. game at Bernatchez Field.
