Women's Lacrosse Ranked Fifth in NAC Preseason Poll

WATERVILLE, Maine – The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) released the women's lacrosse preseason coaches' poll and the Terriers have been ranked tied for fifth with the University of Maine at Farmington.

Thomas enters their first season under the guidance of new head coach Peri West. The Terriers return key players in Samantha Greenlaw (Windham, Maine), Sophia LaVallee (Pawling, N.Y.), and Hailey Mullen (South Portland, Maine) who started in every game last season. Greenlaw led the Terriers with 35 points on 21 goals and 14 assists, while also causing 22 turnovers and picking up 35 groundballs. LaVallee, a senior, finished last season with 15 goals, four assists, and 17 groundballs, while Mullen added five goals, 16 caused turnovers, and 21 groundballs. The Terriers will look to freshman goalie Sydni Collier (Oakland, Maine) to backstop the team throughout the season.

Thomas will open their 2017 season on the road as they face St. Joseph's (Maine) on Wednesday, March 8 in a 7:00 p.m. matchup at Deering Memorial Stadium.
