Thomas Romps Pilgrims, 21-9

WATERVILLE, ME – Thomas College (7-5, 5-1 NAC) concluded their regular season schedule defeating New England College (5-11, 4-2 NAC), 21-9, in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women's lacrosse contest on Tuesday afternoon. With the victory, the Terriers seal the #2 seed in the NAC playoffs and will have a first round bye.

Thomas started the game on a 5-0 run, including a pair of goals by Miranda Tinsman, who notched her 100th career point as a Terrier with her second tally at the 18:05 mark. New England College was able to crack the scoreboard at 14:14 with a free position shot goal by Kayla O'Conner.

Both teams exchanged a pair of goals, before Thomas put in six goals to end the half with a 13-3 advantage.

The second half would begin with an NEC goal by Elizabeth Bois, followed by a goal by both teams. The Pilgrims continued to cut the deficit with back to back goals by Allison Granata and Gabrielle Bigos, however Jillian Lambert put in two for the Red and Black to pull away with the score.

Jennifer Day led Thomas with six goals and one assist, while Brittany Premo and Tinsman contributed with five goals. Allie McCarthy recorded the win in net, making 11 saves in the winning effort.

Granata had a team-high two goals for NEC, while Mackenzie Meegan suffered the loss between the pipes, making nine saves.

The Terriers held a 39-27 advantage in shots, while holding a 56-43 edge in ground balls.

Thomas will await the results of the conference quarterfinals to see who they will host in the semifinals next week.
