POULTNEY, VT – Thomas College defeated Green Mountain College 23-4 on Saturday at Eagles Game Field in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women's lacrosse tilt.
The Eagles struggled to contain Thomas' up-tempo offense, as the Terriers scored nine unanswered goals to start the game, following scores from Miranda Tinsman (2), Jennifer Day (2), Erin Nelligan (1), Nora Rauch (1) and Brittany Premo (3).
Green Mountain (0-8, 0-5 NAC) would end the Terriers' scoring streak after sophomore attack Elizabeth Quinn scored her first career goal on a nice feed from Megan Scully from behind the net.
Thomas continued to push the pace of the game, firing shot after shot on sophomore goalkeeper Katie Legnard, who finished the game with 11 saves. The Terriers would take a, 11-2 lead into the second half.
Thomas took over in the second half. The Terriers outscored Green Mountain 12-2 in the last 30 minutes of play to move to 6-5 overall on the year and 4-1 in conference play.
Senior Johanna Douglas recorded three other goals to go along with her five groundballs and three caused turnovers for the Eagles, while Katie Legnard scooped a team-high seven groundballs in her goalkeeping debut.
Tinsman, Premo and Day each scored seven goals for the Terriers with Day also adding three assists, while Nelligan led the team with seven groundballs and three caused turnovers.
Allie McCarthy improved to 4-1 for the Terriers after making two saves while Legnard moved to 0-1 on the season for Green Mountain.
Thomas will also finish on Tuesday, Apri 22 as it prepares to host New England College for their final regular season contest of the season.
