Tinsman's Seven Goals Romps Terriers Past Husson

BANGOR, ME- Thomas was able to conquer another crucial North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women's lacrosse victory, defeating Husson on Wednesday afternoon, 18-10.

Thomas improves to 8-4, 3-1 NAC while Husson ends their regular season with a 3-9, 1-5 NAC record.

The Eagles hung with the Terriers for the majority of the first half, finishing the opening stanza 6-6. Caitlyn Stauffer (Brookfield, Conn.) scored five goals in the first half to keep the Eagles within reach, while Miranda Tinsman (Belgrade, Maine) led Thomas with four goals.

The Terriers scored six unanswered goals to make the score 12-6 to start off the closing half. Husson would respond with back to back goals, however Thomas would pull away with another six spot, Tinsman accounting for three of them. The Eagles would add two late goals, but wouldn't be enough for a legitimate comeback opportunity.

Tinsman led the way for Thomas scoring seven, and Brittany Fox (Lovell, Maine) recorded the win, making six saves.

Thomas will conclude their 2013 regular season over the weekend hosting conference foes Green Mountain and New England College. On Saturday the contest is scheduled for 1pm against GMC, and Sunday's matinee at noon will be against the Pilgrims.
