Bangor, Maine - Game two of the North Atlantic Conference East Division Championship resulted in a thrilling 11-10 overtime victory by the Thomas Terriers over the Green Mountain Eagles. Green Mountain ends their season with a 7-4 overall record. With the win, Thomas advances to the NAC East Championship where they will face Husson University in a 12:00 PM game at Husson's Boucher Field.
Thomas' Kiley Jolicoeur opened the scoring just seconds into the start of the first half. Green Mountain's Johanna Douglas answered with a score of her own. Thomas claimed the next three goals but Green Mountain answered scoring five goals in the final ten minutes of the first half to bring the score to 6-7 at halftime with green mountain trailing.
Jolicoeur tallied four goals in the first half for the Terriers while Johanna Douglas scored three of her own for the Eagles.
The second half opened with a goal by Amanda Malkin. Green Mountain and Thomas traded goals throughout the remainder of the second half to end in a 10-10 stalemate. The Eagles and Terriers battled through three minutes and fifty seconds of overtime until Thomas' Megan Denby scored the sudden death goal to give the Terriers the win over Green Mountain.
Jolicoeur led Thomas with five goals, followed by Megan Denby with four scores. Amanda Malkin and Johanna Douglas tallied three goals apiece for the Eagles. In goal, Thomas' Kelsy Allan registered 10 saves while Green Mountain's Teshia Cates made 15 saves.
Thomas will face Husson in the North Atlantic Conference Championship on Sunday, April 30 for a 12:00 PM game at Husson's Boucher Field.
