WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College women's basketball defeated UMaine-Presque Isle 69-60 on Saturday afternoon in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game at Larry Mahaney Gym.
Malorie Weaver (Palermo, Maine) topped all scorers with 22 points and added six rebounds for the Terriers. Addie Brinkman (Farmington, Maine) notched a doble-double, scoring 16 and pulling in a game-high 14 boards along with three steals. Karli Stubbs (Auburn, Maine) tacked on 12 points to round out the Thomas lineup.
The teams traded the lead through the opening frame, eventually taking a 12-12 tie into the second. Thomas distanced themselves over the next ten, outscoring UMPI 21-8 to take a 33-20 lead into the intermission.
The Terriers held that cushion through the third period, taking a 46-35 edge into the final stanza. The Owls were unable to string a run together in the fourth as Thomas took the 69-60 victory.
Prior to the game, Brinkman, Stubbs and Weaver were honored during a senior day ceremony for their contributions to the program.
Thomas will host Maine Maritime Academy in their final regular home game on Friday, February 14 at 5:30 PM.
