WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College women's basketball team fell to Husson University 63-47 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game on Saturday afternoon at Larry Mahaney Gym.
Addie Brinkman (Farmington, Maine) notched 15 points and seven rebounds to lead the Terriers. Karli Stubbs (Auburn, Maine) added nine points with Anna Piirainen (West Paris, Maine) dished out six assists.
Thomas held a slight edge early on, leading 15-10 with 4:12 to go in the first. The Eagled took the lead over the final minutes of the frame and went into the second up 22-17. Husson kept that cushion through much of the next ten minutes to go into the break ahead 34-28.
The Terriers continued to hang around in the third, cutting the lead down to 34-33 just over two minutes in, but Husson extended their lead back to eight and went into the final quarter with a 45-37 lead. The Eagles put their foot on the gas in the fourth, outscoring Thomas 18-10 to take the 63-47 win.
Thomas will host UMaine-Presque Isle in another NAC game on Saturday, February 8 at 2:00 PM.
