CASTINE, Maine – The Thomas College women's basketball team fell 66-44 to Maine Maritime Academy on Friday evening in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game.
The Terriers were led be Malorie Weaver (Palermo, Maine) who recorded 13 points to go along with four rebounds. Thomas' second leading score was Addie Brinkman (Farmington, Maine) who notched a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, with three blocks.
The Mariners controlled the first 10 minutes of play after going on a 13-6 run to finish the last four minutes of the first quarter with a 19-13 lead. The Terriers were outmatched in the second period as MMA outscored Thomas 19-13 to contain a 38-29 advantage at the intermission.
The Mariners obtain their largest lead of the third quarter a little over five minutes into the quarter with a score of 45-32. After back-and-forth action the final half of the period ended with MMA leading 49-36. MMA closed out the game with 13-8 run through the final frame to take the 66-44 win.
Thomas' next contest is on February 1 at 3:00 in Larry Mahaney Gymnasium in a NAC game against Husson.
