WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College women's basketball team defeated Norwich University 57-52 on Thursday evening in a non-conference game at Larry Mahaney Gymnasium for their sixth win in a row.
Kaylee Ravagli (Lowell, Mass.) led all scorers with 17 points on 7-10 shooting and pulled in seven rebounds. Karli Stubbs (Auburn, Maine) added 10 points, while Shala Davis (Troy, Maine) scored eight and pulled in a team-high nine boards.
Thomas took the early edge going up 6-1 in the first three minutes, but Norwich chipped away to make it 11-9 after a low-scoring first quarter. The Terriers went on a quick 12-3 run to start the second and took a 23-12 lead three and a half minutes in. They held their cushion through the rest of the frame to go into the break ahead 32-21.
Norwich made a run in the third quarter to cut the Thomas lead to two, winning the quarter 21-12 as the Terriers held on to a 44-42 lead going into the fourth. After back and forth scoring over the first six minutes of the fourth tied the game 48-48, Thomas scored eight unanswered to propel themselves to a 56-48 lead with 30 seconds left and finished off with the 57-52 win.
Thomas will host UMaine-Farmington in a North Atlantic Conference contest on Saturday, January 25 at 1:00 PM in Larry Mahaney Gym.
