CANTON, N.Y. – The Thomas College women's basketball team earned their second victory over SUNY Canton in as many days, winning a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) contest 57-34 on Saturday afternoon.
Addie Brinkman (Farmington, Maine) led the Terriers in scoring, picking up 15 points for her third consecutive double-digit scoring performance. She was an efficient 7-12 (58.3%) from the field and pulled in six rebounds.
Shala Davis (Troy, Maine) made the most of her 22 minutes off the bench, pulling in a game-high 13 rebounds. Davis helped the Terriers take a 53-39 advantage in cleaning the glass.
The teams were nearly even in turnovers, with the Roos forcing 20 to Thomas' 19. The Terriers took advantage of SUNY Canton's mistakes, though, and scored 20 points off turnovers to the Roos' 6.
Thomas held the lead for nearly the entirety of the game, with SUNY Canton only leading by one during a brief spell in the first. The Terriers were up 22-11 at the end of the first and extended the lead to 35-19 by halftime. Thomas kept their foot on the gas and cruised to the 57-34 victory.
Thomas will travel to Johnson & Wales for a non-conference game on Wednesday, December 11 at 6:30 PM.
