WATERVILLE, Maine –The Thomas College women's basketball team fell UMaine-Farmington 59-46 in their regular-season finale on Tuesday evening in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game at Larry Mahaney Gym.
The teams traded baskets through an even first period, with a late layup giving the Beavers a 14-12 edge after one. The teams stayed even in a neck-and-neck battle through the second quarter, with each team scoring 14 in the period to make it 28-26 in favor of UMF at the intermission.
The Beavers were able to separate themselves early in the third, using a 9-2 run over the first seven minutes to take control at 37-28, and took a 40-32 lead into the final quarter. UMF held the Terriers away in the fourth and went on to the 59-46 win.
Nikki Bradstreet (Topsham, Maine) led the way for Thomas with 12 points, while Malorie Weaver turned in an eight-point, 15-rebound performance. Addie Brinkman (Farmington, MAINE) also rebounded in double-digits, hauling in 10 to go along with seven points.
The Terriers will await official word on their seeding for the NAC Playoffs, which will be announced on Wednesday evening following the final regular season NAC contests.
