WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College women's basketball team fell to Husson 55-48 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game on Friday evening at Larry Mahaney Gym.
After a low-scoring start Husson eventually took control five minutes in with a 7-2 lead. Thomas chipped away and went into the second score down 11-10. The scoring pace stayed slow in the second frame, with Husson holding a 16-13 edge in the period and taking a 27-23 lead into the half.
After more back in forth to start the third, Husson held a 31-25 lead with six and a half to go in the period. The Terriers outscored the Eagles 16-7 through the remainder of the quarter to take a 41-38 lead into the fourth. Husson scored the first nine points of the period to go up 47-41 with three and a half to go in the game and held on to take the 55-48 victory.
Molly Carroll (Southwest Harbor, Maine) and Kaylee Ravagli (Lowell, Mass.) each scored nine points to lead the Terriers, with Carroll bringing in five rebounds. Nikki Bradstreet (Topsham, Maine) chipped in eight points off the bench for Thomas.
Thomas will travel to Maine Maritime Academy on Saturday, January 26 for a 3:00 PM NAC contest.
