WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College women's basketball team defeated UMaine-Presque Isle 79-63 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game on Wednesday evening at Larry Mahaney Gym.
The Terriers jumped out to an early lead, going up 14-4 five minutes in and closing the first quarter with a 21-7 lead. UMPI was able to produce more offense in the second, but Thomas kept pace and went into halftime ahead 44-27.
The Owls began to close the gap in the third, starting the quarter on a 15-4 run that made it 48-42 in favor of Thomas. UMPI continued to hang in as Thomas went into the forth with a narrow 56-52 lead. The Terriers separated themselves again early in the forth and outscored UMPI 23-11 in the quarter to pull away with the 79-63 victory.
Addie Brinkman (Farmington, Maine) was a rebound shy of a double-double, scoring 19 points and pulling in nine rebounds. Karli Stubbs (Auburn, Maine) shot 6-of-13 from three-point range to score 17 points, while recording four rebounds. Kaylee Ravagli (Lowell, Mass.) chipped in 13 points coming off the bench.
The Terriers will travel to UMaine-Farmington for a 3:00 NAC game on Saturday, January 19.
