WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College women's basketball team fell to Northern Vermont University-Lyndon 50-42 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game on Friday evening at Larry Mahaney Gym.
The teams stayed even in the early minutes, with Lyndon holding a 5-4 edge midway through the first. The Hornets rallied off 10 unanswered points in the final five minutes of the quarter to set out on a 15-4 lead going into the second. Lyndon held their lead in the second, but the Terriers hung around as the Hornets went into the break with a 27-17 lead.
Thomas came out firing in the third, going on a 15-6 run to bring the score to 33-32 before a late Lyndon three gave the Hornets a four-point cushion going into the fourth. Lyndon quickly distanced themselves in the final quarter, using an 11-4 run over the first six minutes to give them a 47-36 lead. The Terriers chipped away in the final minutes, but Lyndon moved on to the 50-42 win.
Molly Horton (Brownington, Vt.) led Thomas with nine points and eight rebounds. Malorie Weaver (Palermo, Maine) added eight points, while Molly Carroll (Southwest Harbor, Maine) and Kaylee Ravagli (Lowell, Mass.) each chipped in six.
Thomas hosts NVU-Johnson on Saturday, December 8 at 3:00 PM at Larry Mahaney Gym.
