WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College women's basketball team picked up their first conference win of the season with a 69-48 win over SUNY Canton in their North Atlantic Conference (NAC) opener on Friday evening at Larry Mahaney Gym.
The teams were evenly matched through the first quarter, trading leads with the Terriers holding a 17-16 edge at the end of the period. Thomas jetted out on a 12-0 run over the first five minutes of the second to take a 28-16 lead and cruised to halftime with a 35-24 advantage.
The Terriers maintained their lead, holding off momentum from the Roos to hold a 55-40 lead heading into the fourth. Thomas slowly piled on to their lead in the fourth and moved on toa 69-48 victory.
Molly Carroll (Southwest Harbor, Maine) led all scorers with 14 points to go along with two rebounds, two assists and two steals. Kaylee Ravagli (Lowell, Mass.) and Molly Horton (Brownington, Vt.) eached added 13 points, while Horton tacked on six rebounds, six assists and two steals. Addie Brinkman (Farmington, Maine) led the Terriers with seven boards to go with six points.
Thomas will host the second game of their back-to-back with SUNY Canton on Saturday, December 1 at 3:00 PM at Larry Mahaney Gym.
