GORHAM, Maine – The Thomas College women's basketball team fell to the University of Southern Maine 55-36 on Saturday afternoon.
After Thomas notched the first score of the contest, USM went on a 23-4 run through the rest of the first to take a 23-6 lead going into the second. The Terriers were stifled offensively in the second, as the Huskies went on to hold a 35-7 lead at halftime.
Thomas continued their trend of strong second halves, first outscoring the Huskies 12-10 in the third quarter before holding a 17-10 advantage in the fourth. The Terriers were unable to overcome the early deficit, however, and fell 55-36.
Molly Carroll (Southwest Harbor, Maine) led the Terriers with 10 points while Addie Brinkman (Farmington, Maine) led all players with a game-high 14 rebounds and five points. Molly Horton (Brownington, Vermont) added nine points, four rebounds and two assists.
Victoria Harris led the Huskies off the bench with 13 points and four rebounds, while Alexa Srolovitz added nine points, three assists and three rebounds.
The Terriers will travel to Saint Joseph's (Maine) for a 5:30 PM game on Tuesday, November 13.
