NAC Releases Women’s Basketball Preseason Poll

WATERVILLE, ME – The North Atlantic Conference released the North Atlantic Conference preseason coaches' poll and the Terriers have been ranked to finish ninth.

Thomas enters the 2016-2017 season in their third year under head coach Emily Cummins.  In 2015-2016, Cummins and the Terriers finished at 3-22 overall along with a 2-16 conference record.  The Terriers will look for leadership out of returning players Tess McClenahan (Salmon, Idaho) and Kelly Macomber (West Gardiner, Maine).  Cummins has added four transfer players: Amira Jones (Chicopee, Mass.), Jordan Turner (Casco, Maine), Sammie Griffin (Union, Maine), and Abby Nielsen (North Yarmouth, Maine).  All four players logged minutes last season at Southern Maine Community College and will use their experience for a quick transition into the new program.  Jones led the SeaWolves offense last season with 11.4 points per game and averaging nine rebounds.  Turner averaged 7.5 points and a team-high 3.7 assists per game.

The Terriers will host the University of Maine at Presque Isle in their season opener on Tuesday, November 15, at 5:30 p.m.
