HENNIKER, N.H. --- Thomas College seniors Katie McAllister (Pittston, Maine / Gardiner Area) and Ashleigh Gagne (Waterville, Maine / Waterville) combined for 33 points and 12 rebounds but host New England College captured a 74-50 victory in North Atlantic Conference women's basketball play Friday night.
McAllister finished with a game-high 17 points and had eight rebounds, while Gagne added 16 points and four boards for the Terriers (3-19, 2-13 NAC).
The Pilgrims (16-7, 10-6 NAC) were led by Maranda Parker's 12 points off the bench, while Tiffany Davis had a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Utshana Durham also added 10 points.
New England College jumped out to a 23-8 lead after one quarter and led 41-24 at halftime.
The teams matched each other point-for-point in the third quarter with Gagne and junior Sarah Pepin (Buxton, Maine / Bonny Eagle) tallying five points each for the Terriers.
The Pilgrims regained the momentum in the final quarter, outscoring the Terriers, 16-9, behind six points from Parker. NEC was also helped by a 14-2 advantage on the boards in the frame.
The Pilgrims also held a 46-26 rebounding advantage and outshot the Terriers, 47.5 percent to 38.2 percent, in the contest.
Thomas wraps up its road trip to New Hampshire at 1 p.m Saturday against Colby-Sawyer College.
