POULTNEY, VT – The Thomas women's basketball team defeated Green Mountain College in a North Atlantic Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon by a final score of 48-44. Katie McAllister and Ashleigh Gagne each scored 16 points for the Terriers in the victory.
The first half was a low scoring affair, with neither team breaking into double digits in the point column until nine minutes remaining in the half. The two teams battled back and forth, with Green Mountain eventually taking a 22-19 lead into the locker room at halftime. Gagne led Thomas with nine first-half points, while McAllister chipped in with seven points of her own.
In the second half, the Terriers would storm back, taking the lead back just three minutes in. The two teams would alternate scores for the next six minutes before an Ashleigh Gagne put the Terriers on top for good with just over nine minutes to play. McAllister scored nine second half points, while Gagne added seven to bring their game totals to 16 points each. Jordan Agger-Barnes scored eight points, all in the second half, while grabbing nine boards for Thomas.
For Green Mountain, Allison Wadsworth scored 17 points, and teammate Torie Cowell scored 10 points while grabbing 15 rebounds.
The Terriers will be back in action on Wednesday, February 18, when they take on Maine Maritime in their final home game of the season at 7:30 PM.
