CASTINE, ME – The Thomas College women's basketball team dropped a North Atlantic Conference game to Maine Maritime on Tuesday evening by a final score of 66-45. Ashleigh Gagne recorded a double-double in the loss for the Terriers, posting 10 points and 15 rebounds.
The Terriers (1-12, 0-7 NAC) got out to an early 7-2 lead, however the Mariners (5-8, 2-4 NAC) stormed back to take a 22-11 lead, sparked by 19 first half points from Mary Badeen, and took a 29-17 lead into the half.
Gagne recorded seven of her team-high 10 points in the first half, while pulling down six of her team-leading 15 rebounds in the first as well. Taylor Reynolds and Katie McAllister each added four points in the first half for Thomas, while Tess McClenahan pulled in three rebounds.
McClenahan led all Terriers in scoring in the second half, pouring in nine points while also grabbing three more rebounds. Gagne added nine rebounds and three assists in the second half as well.
Badeen had a game-high 32 points for the Mariners, while also pulling in eight rebounds and dishing out six assists.
Maine Maritime will hit the road this weekend when they travel to the University of Maine at Farmington on Saturday to take on the Beavers. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
