WATERVILLE, ME – The Thomas College women's basketball team dropped a North Atlantic Conference match-up Saturday afternoon to Colby-Sawyer College by a score of 77-32. Ashleigh Gagne scored a game-high 13 points in the loss for the Terriers.
The Terriers (1-11, 0-6 NAC) got out to an early lead, going up by a score of 7-4 three minutes into the game after a Gagne three-pointer. Colby-Sawyer (7-5, 4-2 NAC) would answer right back, however, and take the lead with 13 minutes to play in the first half. The Chargers used a 24-0 run throughout the half to guide them to a 41-14 halftime lead.
Gagne had five first half points for the home team, while Morgan Buker added four points and six rebounds for Thomas.
In the second half, Gagne added eight more points to give her a game-high 13 for the Terriers while also pulling down four rebounds in the half. Buker again grabbed six rebounds to give her a game-high 12.
For Colby-Sawyer, Jessica Shenkel scored a team-high 12 points, while Katie McCarthy and Emmani Robinson each added 10 points of their own. Kristin Ellis had a team-high 10 rebounds in the victory for the Chargers.
The Terriers will be back in action on Tuesday, January 13, when they travel to Maine Maritime. Game time is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
