WATERVILLE, ME – The Thomas College women's basketball team dropped a North Atlantic Conference match-up to New England college by a score of 80-45 on Friday evening at Larry Mahaney Gymnasium. Jordan Agger-Barnes scored a team high 13 points in the loss while also grabbing seven rebounds.
New England College got out to big lead early on, going up 21-4 halfway through the first. Taylor Burgess had a team leading 14 points and eight rebounds in the first half, while Kayla Lawlor also added 13 points for the Pilgrims.
Katie McAllister scored six points for the Terriers in the first half while Ashleigh Gagne added four points for the home squad. Morgan Buker added four rebounds and two blocks in the half for Thomas.
Thomas went into the locker room trailing 50-19, but came out able to stand their ground in the second half. Agger-Barnes scored 10 of her 13 points in the second half while Olivia Brown added eight points as well. Buker added five more rebounds for the Terriers, bringing her game total to nine.
New England College shot just 13-44 in the second half, while nine different players scored for the visitors in the half on the way to closing out the victory.
Thomas College is back in action on Saturday, January 10, when they take on Colby-Sawyer College. Game time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at Mahaney Gymnasium on the campus of Thomas College.
