Women's Basketball Loses Season Opener to UMA

WATERVILLE, ME – The Thomas women's basketball team was unable to pick up a win in their season opener, falling to the University of Maine-Augusta 63-50 Wednesday night from Larry Mahaney Gymnasium.

Thomas was led by junior Katie McAllister, who put in a game-high 19 points and team-high seven rebounds. Freshman Jordan Agger-Barnes added seven points and three rebounds. Thomas shot just 38.6% from the field and only got to the foul line five times, compared to 18 for the Moose.

UMA's Jamie Plummer secured a double-double, scoring 18 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Jessica St. Amand added 17 points and Carmen Bragg chipped in 16. UMA show 35.5% from the field, but connected on six three-pointers and 13 free throws.

The women's basketball team returns to the court on Friday when they travel to Massachusetts to play in the two-day Salem State University Tip-Off Tournament.
