BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Thomas College track and field team had a strong showing at the Bowdoin Invitational III on Saturday afternoon hosted by Bowdoin College.
The men's team finished fifth overall with a team score of 43 while the women finished sixth with a score of 16.
On the women's side, the Terriers earned a runner-up finish from Jordan Fostun in the women's high jump at 1.40m. Fostun also finished seventh in the triple jump at 9.35m while Lillian Friars recorded a third place finish in the weight throw at 9.06m.
In the men's events, Thomas saw Jarrod Ottman take the lone win of the day in the men's 800 meter run at 2:04.12. Ottman followed up with a fifth place run in the one mile at 4:27.49. Zenawi Bowen had a strong day as he ended up third in the triple jump, fifth in the 60 meter, and sixth in the long jump. Devon Davis finished sixth out of 33 in the 200 meter dash and eighth in the 60 meter. Other top five finishers were Shaynen Schofield in the 400 meter, Eben Kittredge-Cram in the high jump, Baramee Janla in the 60 meter, and Troy Worster in the weight throw.
The Terriers will have next weekend off before they travel to Boston University on February 9 for a two-day event.
