BRUNSWICK, ME – The Thomas College club track and field team competed at the Bowdoin Indoor Invitational on Saturday at the William Farley Field House.
The Terriers were one of eight teams alongside WPI, Bowdoin, Connecticut College, Colby-Sawyer, Wheaton (Mass.), St. Joseph's (Maine), and Husson.
On the women's side, Gabrielle Martineau (New Gloucester, Maine / Gray-New Gloucester) finished ninth of 21 runners in the 200 meter run with a time of 28.57, edging her previous school record. Martineau also broke her women's 60-meter record as she finished at 8.46. Haylee Patterson (Dover-Foxcroft, Maine / Piscataquis) finished fifth in the women's shot put flight one with her throw of 8.36.
In the men's high jump, Brandon Monroe (Berkeley Heights, N.J. / Governor Livingston) finished fourth out of 12 competitors with a jump at 1.83 meters. Monroe also finished eighth in the long jump with a school record of 5.73. Troy Worster had a solid performance in the men's shot put with a ninth place throw at 10.67 meters.
Another record was broken in the men's 3000 meters as Jarrod Ottman (Merrimack, N.H. / Merrimack) finished at 9:18.67 for an eleventh place run. Ibrahim Moustapher (Blantyre, Malawi / Hebron Academy) ran a 7.45 in the men's 60 meters for tenth of 17 in the preliminaries and just missing the final spot.
The Terriers will be back in action as they head to Harvard for a meet on Sunday, January 22.
