WATERVILLE, Maine – The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) has announced its weekly awards for softball and two Thomas College student-athletes have been honored. Kelsey Currier (Cumberland, Maine) was named Pitcher of the Week, while Bailey Dunphy (North Anson, Maine) has been named Rookie of the Week for the third time this season.
Currier earned a 2-0 record for the Terriers in two starts, holding a 0.50 ERA in 14 innings pitched. She pitched two complete games, against Colby and NVU-Johnson, striking out a total of 17 batters while walking three and only allowing five hits. She helped out at the plate as well, hitting .615 (8-for-13) with seven RBI and six runs scored, including a homerun, in four games.
Dunphy hit .786 (11-for-14) this week, helping the Terriers to a 4-0 record. She drove in 12 runs on two doubles and a home run, while scoring eight times and stealing six bases. She had a perfect fielding percentage of 1.000 while splitting time behind the plate and in the outfield.
