WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College softball team defeated UMaine-Farmington in a pair of North Atlantic Conference (NAC) games on Saturday afternoon.
GAME 1: UMF 0, Thomas 7
The Terriers put the game out of hand in the fifth, which started with an RBI double by Katie Taylor (Lebanon, Maine) followed by an RBI single by Colpack. Anna Piirainen (West Paris, Maine) singled Colpack in to score, then came around to score on a passed ball to cap the four-run inning.
Thomas added one more in the sixth when Lauren Guppy (New Sharon, Maine) stole home to give Thomas the 7-0 win.
Coulter got the complete game shutout victory, allowing three hits while striking out six.
GAME 2: UMF 0, Thomas 5
The Terriers scored three times in the first, which was capped by a two-run double by Sydney LeBourveau (Jericho, Vt.). The Terriers added two more in the bottom of the second when Taylor and Kelsey Currier (Cumberland, Maine) scored on an error.
That was all the support Currier needed in the circle, as she pitched seven one-hit innings with six strikeouts to earn the 5-0 win.
Thomas will visit Bowdoin on Monday, April 8 at 3:30 PM for a non-conference doubleheader.
