WATERVILLE, Maine – The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) has announced its weekly awards for softball and Thomas' Katlyn Coulter (Jefferson, N.H.) and Bailey Dunphy (North Anson, Maine) have been recognized. Coulter was named Pitcher of the Week, while Dunphy was named Rookie of the Week.
Coulter picked up three wins and a save in five appearances in the circle, recording a 0.54 ERA with 11 strikeouts in 26.0 innings. She got the win in the Terriers season-opening win over Nichols, where she pitched six scoreless innings. Her gem of the week came in her final appearance, where she allowed just one run, unearned, in a complete-game victory over Middlebury where she struck out six batters while scattering nine hits. This is Coulter's second career Pitcher of the Week award, having earned it once last season.
Dunphy started her rookie campaign strong with a .375 (9/24) batting average with two triples, a double, eight runs, four RBI and four stolen bases in the Terriers 6-2 week. She had a stellar week in the field as well, splitting time behind the plate and in left field. She threw two runners out stealing on four attempts, while allowing just one passed ball catching and had a perfect fielding percentage in the outfield.
