CLERMONT, FL - The Thomas softball team played a total of six games over the first two days of their spring trip to Florida, but the Terriers were unable to come away with victory.
Thomas played three games on Tuesday and three more on Wednesday.
The Terriers dropped their first game in Clermont 10-0 in five innings to North Central College (Ill.), then took on Lawrence University in their second game of the day, and came away with an 8-2 defeat. Lastly, Thomas played the University of Northwestern-Ohio and were knocked off by a score of 18-7 in five innings.
Alyssa Eugley put together a strong game against Northwestern-Ohio, going 2 for 4 with two runs scored and a two-run homer to left center. Briana Warren, Jordan Agger-Barnes, Korrie Laren and Phyllicia Jordan all recorded RBI for Thomas.
Thomas started off the day Wednesday against Middlebury College and were taken down 11-0 in five innings. The Terriers then took on the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in game two, but were again denied a victory, going down 14-4 in five innings. For their final game on the day, the Terriers fell versus Buffalo State 12-3 in six innings.
Nicole Ryder singled home two runs in the sixth inning against Buffalo State, and Taylor L. Johnson scored two runs, had one hit and drew one walk.
The Terriers have seven scheduled games remaining in Clermont, with two on deck for Thursday, three more on Friday, and two on Saturday to close out the spring trip.
