Eagles Terriers Battle to 5-5 Stalemate; to Resume Play Tomorrow Due to Darkness

Bangor, Maine - Game four of the North Atlantic Conference softball championship ground to a suspension of play after the eighth inning due to darkness.  With Husson and Thomas College knotted at 5-5, the teams will resume play on Saturday, April 29 at 12:00 pm in the top of the ninth inning.

The Husson Eagles scored three runs in the bottom of the second inning off RBI singles by Bri Webster and Dottie Cameron, and a wild pitch.  Thomas broke out in the fifth inning with four runs in an error riddled inning for the Eagles to take a 4-3 lead.  Husson managed to score in the bottom of the fifth inning off another error to bring the score to four apiece.  The Eagles and Terriers played through  scoreless sixth and seventh innings and entered the eighth inning with the score remaining 4-4.

In the top of the eighth inning, Thomas' Kelsey Crowe singled to left field to advance Samantha Moore (who began the inning placed on second due to international tiebreaker rules) to third base.  A sacrifice bunt plated Moore for the go-ahead run.   Husson's Kody Lyon notched a key strikeout to end the inning.
