XC: Five Terriers Earn NAC Cross Country Honors

WATERVILLE, Maine – The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) has announced its end of season awards for men's and women's cross country and five Terriers have been honored. Jarrod Ottman (Merrimack, N.H.) was the first runner in program history to earn Runner of the Year and was named to the All-Conference First Team. Jarrod Hooper (Lyman, Maine) and Alister Piccini (Winslow, Maine) were named to the All-Conference Second Team, while Dillon Sullivan(New Gloucester, Maine) and Natalie Corrigan (Oakland, Maine) were named to the sportsmanship team.

Ottman was the first to cross the line at the 2018 NAC Men's Cross Country Championship, which earned him NAC Runner of the Year honors to go with his individual 2018 Championship title and top spot on the All-Conference First Team. Ottman excelled all fall, earning six NAC Runner of the Week honors, including for the week ending with the Championship race. Ottman outran the championship field by ten seconds to claim the 2018 medalist honors, finishing the 8k in 27:26.8.

Hooper and Piccini earned their spots on the All-Conference Second Team with top-15 finishes at the NAC Championship, finishing 13th and 14th, respectively.

Sullivan and Corrigan were named to the Sportsmanship Team, which is reserved for those who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior. The honorees are individuals who have positively affected the sport culture and environment, and whose behavior clearly demonstrates sportsmanship and integrity.
