STANDISH, Maine – Sophomore Jarrod Ottman (Merrimack, N.H.) earned a first place victory as the Thomas College men's cross country finished fourth at the Runnin' Monks Invitational on Saturday.
Eight teams competed in the 8k event as Babson took the overall team win. They were followed by the University of Maine at Farmington in second, the host team St. Joseph's (ME) in third, and the Terriers in fourth.
Ottman led the field with a time of 28:44 and 28 seconds before second place finisher Jeremiah Sands of UMF. Sam Traynor (North Billerica, Mass.) finished 18th at 33:20, Tito Naranja (Fort Kent, Maine) in 22nd 34:31, Dillon Sullivan (New Gloucester, Maine) in 25th (35:09), and Trent Labbe (Waterville, Maine) in 43rd (47:04).
The Terriers will prepare for their next meet on Saturday, October 14 at the Maine State Cross Country Championships.
