Terrier Men Finish Sixth at Maine State Cross Country Championships

NEW GLOUCESTER, ME – The Thomas College men's cross country team finished sixth out of ten teams in the Maine State Cross Country Championships on Saturday at Pineland Farms.

The states' three New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) schools swept the top-three spots with Colby finishing first, Bates in second, and Bowdoin in third.

Senior Nick Kopf (Hampden, Maine / Hampden) was the first Terrier finisher as he crossed the line 61st with a time of 28:48 in the 8K event.  Kopf was followed by teammates Jarrod Ottman (Merrimack, NH / Merrimack) in 75th (30:13), Sam Traynor (North Billerica, Mass. / Tewksbury) 76th (30:17), Billy Chambers (Waterville, Maine / Waterville) 77th (30:18), and Aron MacLean (Fairfield, Maine / Lawrence) 79th (30:24).

The remaining runners for the Terriers were Forrest Labbe in 90th, Tito Naranja 95th, Richie Drown 96th, Dillon Sullivan 106th, Cole Barney 111th, and Josh Devou 115th.

In their next event, The Terriers will host the Thomas Invitational on Friday, October 21 with a 4:00 p.m. start.
