STANDISH, ME – The Thomas College men's cross country team posted an impressive second place finish out of eight teams that competed at the Runnin' Monks Invitational on Saturday morning.
The University of Maine at Farmington won the event, the Terriers finished second, and Emerson College rounded out the top-three.
Freshman Jarrod Ottman (Merrimack, NH / Merrimack) crossed the line in second place in the 8K event with a time of 28:33, just 26 second behind the winner Robbie Hollis of Farmington. Senior Nick Kopf (Hampden, Maine / Hampden Academy) finished the race in fifth at 29:15 and freshman Billy Chambers (Waterville, Maine / Waterville) had a 15th place run (30:55).
Aron MacLean (Farfield, Maine / Lawrence) finished 17th (31:34), Sam Traynor (North Billerica, Mass. / Tewksbury) 19th (31:42), Tito Naranja (Fort Kent, Maine / Fort Kent) 22nd (32:14), and Forrest Labbe (Sidney, Maine / Messalonskee) 34th (33:25) to round out the team scores.
The remaining Terrier runners were Richie Drown 39th (34:25), Dillon Sullivan 42nd (35:57), Cole Barney 47th (39:35), Josh Devou 48th (39:35), Jordan Gibson 56th (40:35), and Ryan Hablitz 61st (42:13).
The Terriers next event will be on Saturday, October 15, as they compete in the Maine State Cross Country Championships.
