Men’s Cross Country Finishes Third at Emmanuel Classic

BOSTON, MA – The Thomas College men's cross country team placed third in the 2016 Emmanuel Fens Classic on Saturday morning in Boston.

The Terriers were led in the 5k event by freshman runner, Jarrod Ottman (North Billerica, MA / Tewksbury), who ran to a fifth place finish with a time of 16:25.  Ottman came in just 32 seconds behind overall winner Mitchell Hutton of Brandeis University.

Senior Nick Kopf (Hampden ME / Hampden Academy) and freshman Billy Chambers (Waterville, ME / Waterville) also ran inside the top-20 with Kopf finishing 12th (17:02) and Chambers coming in 19th (17:52).

The remaining Terrier runners were freshman Sam Traynor (North Bllerica, MA / Tewksbury) 25th (18:24), Tito Naranja (Fort Kent, ME / Fort Kent) 29th (18:40), Richie Drown (Biddeford, ME / Biddeford) 38th (19:13), Forrest Labbe (Sidney, ME / Messalonskee) 45th (20:04), Dillon Sullivan (New Gloucester, ME / Gray-New Gloucester) 48th (21:52), Cole Barney (Barre, VT / Northfield) 49th (22:19), Josh Devou (Levant, ME / Hermon) 50th (22:55), Jordan Gibson (Marietta, Georgia / Alan C. Pope) 52nd (23:49), and Ryan Hablitz (Melrose, MA / Melrose) 53rd (26:30).

Thomas will next compete in the UNE Invitational on Saturday, September 10th, at 11:30 a.m. in Biddeford, Maine.
