MT&F: Davis and Hooper Earn First Men's NAC Weekly Honors in Program History

WATERVILLE, Maine – The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) has announced its weekly awards for men's track & field and Thomas College had two student-athletes recognized as the first NAC weekly award winners in program history. Devon Davis (Troy, Maine) was named Track Athlete of the Week while Jarrod Hooper (Lyman, Maine) was named Rookie of the Week.

Davis qualified for his second NCAA Division III Regional Championship event, recording a time of 50.94 in the 400-meter dash at the Fitchburg State Eric Loeschner Memorial Invitational on Saturday. Davis beat 14 other competitors to win the event by over two seconds. He also set a new standard in the NAC with that time.

Hooper won the 800-meter run at the Fitchburg State Eric Loeschner Memorial Invitational on Saturday. The freshman ran in 2:00.54 to top the field of 28 competitors, edging-out second place by 0.34 seconds. He now holds the second-best time in the NAC to date.
