MTEN: Terriers Win Program's First NEAC Title

LATHAM, N.Y. – The Thomas College men's tennis team defeated Lancaster Bible College 7-2 on Sunday to earn the program's first North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championship.

The Terriers went up 2-1 after doubles, winning the first two flights. The team of Ryan Chasse (Fort Kent, Maine) and Kaleb Payson (Lamoine, Maine) won 8-2 at No. 1, while Jared Waterhouse (Dayton, Maine) and Yontz Sutton (Hamilton, Bermuda) took No. 2 8-2.

Thomas held a 5-1 advantage in singles to clinch the win. Chasse earned a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 1, while Payson took No. 2 6-4, 6-2. Waterhouse got a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 3, followed by wins at No. 5 and No. 6 by Christo Naranja (Fort Kent, Maine) and Jose Afonso (Tenerife, Spain)
