WATERVILLE, Maine – The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) has announced its weekly awards for men's tennis and Thomas College swept the awards. Ryan Chasse (Fort Kent, Maine) was named Player of the Week while Yontz Sutton (Hamilton, Bermuda) earned Rookie of the Week.
Chasse led the Terriers to their first NAC East Divisional title in 15 years. In the semifinal match, he and No. 1 doubles partner Kaleb Payson won 8-3, and then Chasse clinched the win with a 6-0, 6-2 win at first singles. In the tournament final, Chasse and Payson rolled to an 8-0 victory, then Chasse wrapped up the match with a 6-1, 6-0 win. He was named tournament MVP for his impressive performance.
Sutton earns his third Rookie of the Week honors following a dominant performance from Thomas this week. In the NAC East Division tournament, Sutton and Jared Waterhouse rolled to 8-0 victories at No. 2 doubles in both the semifinal and final match. He was ahead in his own No. 4 singles matches as well, but neither was completed because the Terriers clinched both matches in the first five matchups.
