WATERVILLE, Maine – Thomas College Director of Athletics Shanda Ness has announced that Rob Disch has been hired as the Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach. Disch was hired as the Interim Head Men's Tennis Coach in January and will now lead the women's program.
Coach Disch and the men's tennis program currently sit at the 10-3 mark in the 2018 season and a perfect 3-0 in conference play. The Terriers are riding a seven-match winning streak, with all seven wins by a 9-0 score.
"I am thrilled to have Rob join us on a more permanent basis," said Ness. "He has done an excellent job leading our men's program this year and I am confident he will provide both our men's and women's programs a quality student-athlete experience in to the future."
Disch brings 20 years of coaching at the high school level to the Terrier programs. Most recently he has served as the Boys' Varsity Tennis Coach at Waterville High School since 2015. Prior to coaching at Waterville, Disch was at the helm of the Gardiner High School Boys' varsity team for 17 seasons.
Disch graduated from Plymouth State University in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science degree in health, physical education, and recreation.
