NORTH READING, Mass. – The Thomas College men's tennis team swept Suffolk University, 9-0, in a non-conference matchup on Sunday afternoon on the road.
The Terriers have now won five-straight 9-0 matches, improving to 8-3 while the Rams fall below .500 at 3-4.
In doubles play, Ryan Chasse (Fort Kent, Maine) and Zachary Disch (Waterville, Maine) took an 8-3 win over Mike DeFelice and Chris Parnagian in number ones. Ross Munn (Brunswick, Maine) and Jared Waterhouse (Dayton, Maine) edged Kevin Greenman and Rami Esrawi in the No. 2 flight, 8-6. In threes, Kaleb Payson (Lamoine, Maine) and Christo Naranja (Fort Kent, Maine) topped Charles Tang and David Grujic, 8-3.
The Terriers took all six victories in singles action beginning with Chasse winning 6-1, 6-0 over DeFelice in ones while Munn downed Parnagian 6-4, 6-0 in twos. On the three line, Disch defeated Greenman 6-3, 6-1 followed by Waterhouse besting Esrawi 6-0, 6-3. Payson took a 6-2, 6-3 win over Tang while Naranja finished with a 6-3, 7-5 victory against Grujic.
Thomas will be on the road again next Saturday as they face Johnson at 2:00 p.m.
