Men's Tennis Trips Up Castleton, 9-0

WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College men's tennis silenced Castleton University, 9-0, on Saturday morning in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action at the Harold Alfond Athletic Center.

The Terriers improve to 5-3 (1-0 NAC) on the season while the Spartans drop their third straight matchup at 3-3 (0-1 NAC).

In doubles action, Ryan Chasse (Fort Kent, Maine) and Zachary Disch defeated Quentin Barthe and Jared Wheeler on the one line, 8-1.  Ross Munn (Brunswick, Maine) and Jared Waterhouse (Dayton, Maine) took the No. 2 flight over Nathan Hinson and Riley Laughlin, 8-2.  The three line was given to the Kaleb Payson (Lamoine, Maine) and Christo Naranja (Fort Kent, Maine) by a forfeit.

The Terriers took all six victories in singles action with Chasse slipping past Barthe, 6-3, 6-4 in ones.  In No 2 singles, Munn downed Wheeler, 6-1, 6-2 while Disch won 6-0, 6-0 over Hinson.  In fours Waterhouse also silenced Laughlin 6-0, 6-0 followed by another 6-0, 6-0 for Payson over Ethan Cameron-Vaupel.  Thomas earned the win in the sixth spot by forfeit.

Thomas will be back in action at home on Thursday, taking on Southern Maine at 4:00 p.m.
