WATERVILLE, Maine – The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) has announced its weekly awards and freshman Ryan Chasse (Fort Kent, Maine) has been named NAC Men's Tennis Rookie of the Week for the third time this season.
Chasse went 2-1 in his first NAC East Tournament experience on Saturday as the Terriers defeated Castleton 5-4 in the Semifinals and fell to Colby-Sawyer 6-0 in the Championship. In the Semifinals versus Castleton, the rookie battled back after dropping the first set in No. 1 singles to win 3-6, 6-3, 6-2. Then he teamed up with Zachary Disch to win No. 1 doubles 9-7. In the championship matchup, Chasse and Disch fell to first team doubles pair Gustav Jigrup and Alex Wright. Chasse trailed NAC Player of the Year, Jigrup, 6-5 in the first set before the match was ended.
Earlier this week, Chasse was named NAC Rookie of the Year, All-NAC First Team Singles, and All-NAC First Team Doubles.
