WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College men's tennis team earned their third straight victory in a 9-0 sweep of Johnson State on Saturday morning in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action.
The Terriers improve to 4-4 (1-0 NAC) on the year while the Badgers fall to 1-4 (0-1 NAC).
Thomas began the day with a 3-0 sweep in doubles play. Ryan Chasse (Fort Kent, Maine) and Zachary Disch (Waterville, Maine) teamed up to defeat Gerrit Lane and Richie Perez 8-1, while Kaleb Payson (Lamoine, Maine) and Jared Waterhouse (Dayton, Maine) took down Alex Harcourt and Benjamin Holl on the number two line, 8-0. Ross Munn (Brunswick, Maine) and Mark Amato (Manchester, Conn.) finished up with an 8-0 decision over Brady Rainville and Quinn Lambert.
The Terriers continued their strong play as they won all six singles matches with Chasse and Munn winning 6-0, 6-0 on the top two lines. Disch took a 6-0, 6-2 victory from Perez while Waterhouse dropped Rainville 6-1, 6-0. Payson went on to win 6-0, 6-0 as Amato defeated Holl 6-0, 6-2 to wrap up the day.
Thomas will host their next matchup on Tuesday, April 4 as they face Lyndon State at 4:00 p.m.
