Red and Black Denied by RIC, 9-0

Providence, R.I - Rhode Island College shut out Thomas, 9-0, in a non-conference collegiate men's tennis action played at the RIC Tennis Courts on Monday afternoon.

The Anchormen swept all three double matches to begin the day. Alex Werchadlo and freshman Troy Derrick recorded an 8-2 victory at first doubles.
 

Tim Holzinger and freshman Brett Taggart won, 8-3, at second doubles, while freshman Seongkyeong Kim and junior Sean Raudonaitis did not lose a game in an 8-0 whitewash at No. 3 doubles.

Werchadlo fell behind, 6-3, to Thomas' (6-5) Tyler Small, but rallied to win the next two sets, 7-5, 6-3, to pick up the win. Holzinger dropped his first set, 6-4, to Malcolm Marshall, but came back to win the next two, 6-3, 6-4.
 

Derrick, Taggart, Kim and Raudonaitis all won in straight sets as the hosts won their second consecutive match.

Thomas concludes their regular season with a 6-5 (5-1 NAC) record and will await confirmation on where the NAC Championship will be played this upcoming weekend.
