WATERVILLE, ME – Thomas College was defeated in their home opening non-conference men's tennis match to University of Southern Maine, 8-1. Caleb Mora gained the Terriers lone point of the night, winning 6-0 in both sets in the #6 singles spot.
Tyler Small and Eric Morin battled strong in number one doubles, but ultimately fell 8-2. Small, who played at one singles was defeated by USM's Tyler Adams 6-1 and 6-3, while Morin fell at two singles, 6-3 and 6-1. The Red and Black's other chance at coming close to another point came in number five singles, where Federico Trujillo battled Sebatian Taylor, 6-4 and 6-3 but suffered the close loss.
Thomas will host Johnson State on Saturday at the Alfond Athletic Center at 1:00PM.
