WATERVILLE, ME- Thomas men's tennis was able defeat Green Mountain College in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) match, 7-2 on Saturday afternoon. The Terriers improve to 5-5, 2-2 NAC, while the Eagles fall to 1-6, 1-4 NAC.
Thomas was able to sweep doubles, while the combination of Tyler Small (Surry, Maine) and Joseph Greco (Greene, Maine) went into an extra game in number two doubles 9-8 (7-2) against Chris Gaskin (Atlanta, Ga.) and Andrew O'Neill (Philmont, N.Y.).
Eric Morin (Lewiston, Maine) fell to Connor Braden (Lafayette, Ind.) in number one singles, despite battling in each game. Small went a perfect 6-0 in both games to take number two singles, while Greco, Gershom Renee (Hartford, Conn.), and Dakota Duplissie (Hampden, Maine) also won their singles matches in route to the Terriers victory.
Thomas will return to the courts tomorrow to host conference rival Johnson State at noon time.
