Whitingham, Vt. – Three members of the Thomas College men’s tennis team have earned North Atlantic Conference East Division Men’s Tennis Honors as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon. Freshman Eric Morin has been named to the NAC East Division Singles First Team and has also earned Co-Rookie of the Year honors. Senior Tom Bird and freshman Malcolm Neville earned Singles Second Team honors.
New London, N.H. – The Thomas College men’s tennis team 2012 season came to a close in the North Eastern Athletic Conference East Division Tournament Semifinals Saturday afternoon as they were downed by the Badgers of Johnson State 8-1. The Terriers lone win came in number one doubles action as Eric Morin and Tom Bird defeated Johnson’s Ryan Joy and Chance Swafford 8-4 in number one doubles action.
Waterville, Maine – The Thomas College men’s tennis team dropped a non-conference matchup Tuesday afternoon to the Huskies of Southern Maine, 7-2. Freshman Govind Naul picked up his first career win defeating USM’s Alex Smelcer in singles action. Naul also paired with senior Jesse Peasley as the due downed Smelcer and Caleb Jones in doubles.
Waterville, Maine – The Thomas College men’s tennis team picked up their second win of the season Friday afternoon as they downed the Eagles of Green Mountain 9-1 in non-conference play. With the win the Terriers improve to 2-2 (1-0 NEAC East) on the season while the Eagles fall to 1-5 (0-1 NAC).
Gorham, Maine – The Thomas College men’s tennis team was shutout 9-0 in a non-conference match with the Huskies of Southern Maine Wednesday afternoon. With the loss the Terriers drop to 1-2 (1-0 NEAC East) on the season, while the Huskies improve to 3-1.
Waterville, Maine – The Thomas Men's Tennis team (1-1, 1-0 NEAC East) outlasted defending North Atlantic Conference champions Castleton (2-3, 0-1 NEAC East) 5-4 in a tightly contested conference match up. In singles play, at the number one spot, first year Eric Morin outlasted Stew Quinn for the win 7-5, 2-6, 6-1. At third singles, senior Tom Bird defeated Chris Belanger 6-3, 6-1. And, at number two singles, first year Malcom Neville defeated Adam McCaffery 6-3, 6-2 in what turned out to be the deciding match for the Terriers. Thomas took two of the Doubles play matches to round out the scoring.
Waterville, Maine – The Thomas College Men's Tennis team (0-1, 0-0 NAC) fell today 7-2 to visiting Johnson State (1-5, 0-0 NAC) in a non-conference dual match. Senior Jesse Peasley scored the lone with for the Terriers defeating Johnson's Peter Leblanc.
